Founder of Pardon Point | Bilingual Legal Professional
Marie Saintil, J.D., LL.B.
Experience. Compassion. A Second Chance.
Experience. Compassion. A Second Chance.
Marie Saintil is an experienced legal professional with more than 20 years of experience in immigration law and administrative law. Called to the Ontario Bar on July 17, 2003, Marie has built her career on legal advocacy, navigating complex legal processes, and helping individuals understand their rights, responsibilities, and available options.
Throughout her career, Marie has represented clients before numerous administrative tribunals and courts, including appellate courts. Her professional experience encompasses immigration law, administrative law, criminal law, and family law, providing her with a broad understanding of the legal challenges individuals may encounter.
Bilingual Advocacy and Client Service
Marie is fully bilingual in Canada’s two official languages, French and English. She has represented and advocated for clients in both languages without the need for interpretation. This ability enables her to communicate directly with clients, present legal arguments, and address complex matters in the language in which they are most comfortable.
Her commitment to accessible communication and individualized service is central to her professional philosophy. She believes that everyone deserves to be heard, understood, and treated with respect, particularly when navigating unfamiliar or challenging legal and administrative processes.
Academic Excellence and International Legal Education
Marie’s academic background reflects a strong foundation in both common law and civil law traditions, complemented by international legal education.
She earned her Juris Doctor from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, and her Bachelor of Laws in Civil Law from the Université de Sherbrooke in Quebec. She also obtained a Certificate in International Law from the prestigious Université Paris-I-Panthéon-Sorbonne in Paris, France.
Her academic achievements include receiving the Carswell Prize for Highest Standing in Property Law at Queen’s University.
In addition to her legal practice, Marie has taught Comparative Legal Systems at the University of Windsor Faculty of Law, contributing to legal education and the study of different legal traditions.
The Vision Behind Pardon Point
Pardon Point was established to help individuals navigate the Canadian record suspension process and explore available options for U.S. travel waiver applications, with greater clarity, confidence, and professional support.
Marie understands that a criminal record or past legal difficulties can create uncertainty and obstacles when individuals seek employment, pursue new opportunities, or wish to travel internationally. She believes that people who have taken responsibility for their past and paid their dues deserve to be treated with dignity and given the opportunity to move forward.
Pardon Point was founded on a simple but powerful principle: a person’s past should not automatically define their future.
Drawing on her extensive legal background, Marie has assembled a team of professionals with more than 20 years of combined experience in administrative law. Together, the team aims to provide knowledgeable guidance, careful document preparation, and personalized support to clients navigating record suspension and U.S. travel waiver processes.
Our Commitment to Exceptional Customer Service
At Pardon Point, exceptional customer service is more than a business objective; it is a fundamental commitment.
Marie believes that every client deserves to be treated with courtesy, patience, professionalism, and compassion, regardless of their background or past circumstances. Clients should never feel judged, dismissed, or defined by their history.
Pardon Point strives to provide a welcoming and respectful experience through clear communication, transparent fees, individualized attention, and practical guidance throughout the application process.
The goal is to ensure that clients understand the steps involved, know what documentation may be required, and feel supported as they work toward their personal goals.
Services are offered with a commitment to making complex administrative processes more approachable in both French and English.
Record Suspensions and U.S. Travel Waivers
Pardon Point assists individuals seeking guidance with Canadian record suspension applications and U.S. travel waiver applications.
For eligible individuals, a Canadian record suspension may help reduce certain barriers associated with a criminal record. Individuals who encounter restrictions when travelling to the United States may also need to explore the separate U.S. waiver process, depending on their circumstances.
These are distinct processes, and neither an application nor a favourable outcome can be guaranteed. Pardon Point’s objective is to help clients understand the applicable requirements, prepare their documentation carefully, and navigate the process with informed and professional assistance.
Marie recognizes that the ability to pursue employment, rebuild one’s future, and travel to visit family or explore opportunities can be deeply meaningful. Her goal is to help clients understand the options available to them and take informed steps toward their objectives.
A Commitment to Giving Back to the Community
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Marie is also a foster mother who believes deeply in giving back to her community. As a foster parent to young children, she provides care and support within a trauma-informed environment that prioritizes safety, stability, dignity, and understanding.
Marie recognizes that every individual has a unique personal history and that past experiences can shape how people navigate challenges and interact with the world around them. Her approach to foster parenting is grounded in patience, empathy, consistency, and respect for each child’s individual needs.
These same values guide her professional career and the way she treats her clients. Marie believes in approaching every person with compassion, without judgment, and with an appreciation for their individual circumstances.
Whether supporting a child in foster care or helping a client navigate a complex administrative process, she strives to create an environment where people feel heard, respected, and supported.
For Marie, giving back is more than a professional responsibility. It is a personal commitment to helping others move forward with dignity, confidence, and hope.
Our Philosophy: Everyone Deserves the Opportunity to Move Forward
Marie believes in the importance of accountability, personal growth, and second chances. People can learn from their past, fulfil their obligations, and work toward building a better future.
Pardon Point was created to serve individuals with dignity and respect, recognizing that a past mistake should not become the sole measure of a person’s worth or potential.
The business is committed to providing reliable guidance, attentive customer service, and a professional environment where clients can seek assistance without fear of judgment.
Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity. Everyone deserves respect. And everyone deserves the opportunity to explore a better future.
